[Gallery] RG Z Gundam MS mode

Here's some pic of the RG Z Gundam that I've just finished.
Due to the fact that RG Z cannot move the shoulder forward (limited thanks to the transformation mechanism) and that I've been watching Lighting Ace's blog that features many awesome aerial poses for gunplas, I tried using more aerial poses here myself.

Also, do you prefer the small thumbnail gallery look in this post or the usual large thumbnails (like in this post)?
Please post in the comments.

Merry Christmas 2012

Almost too late, but might as well make this the usual "I'm still alive" post.

As you can see, I've built the RG Zeta Gundam. Will probably make more post about it soon.
At least I planned to make a video of its transformation mechanism.

[Anime review] Robotics;Notes eps 1

Finally got myself to review an anime ;^^
Though I'll have to admit, the writing style is more like a text version of a video review or a video game let's play archive ;^^.

I made this one for a somebody else's blog, so I'll put the link right below.

Comments and critiques are deeply appreciated, thanks!

[Gallery] RG Justice Part 1

These photos has been sitting on my harddisk for a couple of week yet only just now did I posted it.
I dunno, my brain hasn't seem to work very well lately @_@.

Well anyway, here are the pics for the RG Justice Gundam (part 1 because I haven't put any of the decals yet).

Loved the details on this kit, in fact it might have more details than the RG Mk-II, even though RG Justice had roughly the same number of runners while also having parts for the huge Fatum backpack.
Props to Bandai for the great parts build (especially on the Fatum) and the panel lines all over the place.

Thoughts on recent plamos

Speaking of plamos, after the All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2012, lot's of new plamos shows up there. I have to say, the ones that shows up were incredibly enticing. Even so, due to my limited budget, I'm limiting my "must get list" to just 3. Here they are by order of priorities:

That thing about Culture Japan Night Jakarta...

Well, it has been over a month since I've said I'm going to write about my experience at Culture Japan Night Jakarta. I've been writing a long post, and at one point I just got sick of writing it as it turns more like a long diary that nobody will be interested to read. That, and I realized that there was pretty much just one thing I want to point from that event:

I wanted to boast about getting 2nd place on the first ever Moekana tournament.

And apparently I'm also not good at looking at cameras when having multiple cameraman taking picture at the same time
Here's some hint to know which person in this picture is "hiroy_raind": I'm a guy, and I'm definitely not Danny Choo. Also apparently my definition of "to smile" is to put the biggest smug face I have to the point of wanting to punch myself in the face the moment I saw my own photo.

[Comic] First Experience

I know what I did there.

Well, yeah, I'm kinda somewhat learning on doing weathering, as suggested by a commenter on my deviantArt page. Did some dry brushing with dark copper (coulnd't find metallic grey in a local Tamiya store).
Not sure if I'm satisfied with my first try. Kinda felt I overdid in some places and didn't put enough in other places. But oh well, it's a start :).
And I'm quite fond of portraying SCM EX RX-78-2 as the crazy guy that does silly stuffs XD.

Model kits used in this comic:
  • Bandai's RG 1/144 RX-178 Gundam Mk-II AEUG color
  • Bandai's HGUC 1/144 GM Striker
  • Bandai's HGUC 1/144 GM Custom
  • Banpresto's SCM EX RX-78-2

Japanese version after the jump.

[Gallery] Rooftop Test

Tried doing some photoshoots on the rooftop of my new lodging house. Dusty as heck and not as flexible as taking pictures on my own room, but I am very, truly, extremely satisfied with the results.

More pics after the jump.

System Weapon 003, Writing Interrupted

Well, my writing process was halted by the arrival of this:

Accessories to put more accessories onto it. I like that.

Couldn't resist getting one since both the beam rifles and shields included here are pretty awesome looking. Not to mention I haven't built anything in the past two months, the temptation for building this is pretty tough ;^^.

Some pics after the jump.
Pics are taken using my cellphone camera, so sorry for the quality.

Currently (still) writing a post about my experiences from Culture Japan Night Jakarta last week.
Meanwhile, here's some random things that I myself am not sure why I made them.

[Event Diaries] AFA Indonesia

In case any of you wondering why I've been spamming Japanese on my Twitter account yesterday (I doubt anybody even cared, though), I just came back from Anime Festival Asia Indonesia, which was the very first actual Japanese event in Indonesia, and I was blown away by the concert. After getting home, I went to thanks every artists on Twitter before sleeping despite sore throat and sore legs & arms muscles (worth every hops and glowstick swings).

I know some people would probably be like 'ONLY ONE LOOT!?!?'
My only loot from AFA ID.
Had I not found this, I probably would've bought the Aniki Muffler.
I want it soooooo much, but it was pretty expensive :(.

[Comic] Partner Planes

Probably the comic with the largest number of ellipses
SCM EX is in town, baby!

Kits used in this comic:
  • Bandai's RG 1/144 RX-78-2
  • Bandai's RG 1/144 Aile Strike Gundam
  • Banpresto's SCM EX RX-78-2
  • Banpresto's SCM EX Guncannon

Also, a little surprise after the jump.

Banner's progress

I really wanted to make this banner as good as I can, so it might take a little longer even though some can say that I'm very close to finishing it. And it doesn't help that my teacher wanted me to script some extra code for my report's revision ;=_=.

That said, here's how far I've made it:

Click for larger sizeInsert lights and angel's chorus here

Thanks to my friend for recommending me a cool Photoshop plugin.
I still need to alter the angles and size so it'll fit banner size.

By the way, do you guys prefer it to look like a painting or not?
I think I'll put this as another poll. It's on the right side of the site.
EDIT: The poll won't save for some reason, so just post it in the comments ;^^

Here's some pic of the cropped HGFC God Gundam and RG RX-78-2 that I've played around with effects on Photoshop.

"Muv-Luv The TSF Forefront" slated for December release!

Muv-Luv The TSF Forefront, a doujin game created with UDK, is slated for December release! (probably Comiket 83).
The developer's site

The newest PV showed some more co-op vs BETA. So far only the Grappler-class BETA and small Laser-class BETA is seen in the game. New updates includes more dynamic camera angles, Laser-class BETA warnings, better friendly AI and Japanese HUD (even though the TSF is F-15 Strike Eagle LOL).

So far the game looked great, hopefully we'll see more videos before the release.

[Sidestory] Recent Stuff July 26th 2012

Not the actual picture used for editing, obviously
Working on it.

Slower than I promised, as always =/.
Now let's see whether I can justify myself with these excuses.

[Sidestory] Still busy, and Binbougami ga!

Well, unexpectedly (or expectedly, considering my luck), I still got to take car of business until Monday. So I couldn't make the banner nor any comics, sorry ;^^

In other news...

Well that's a rare reaction face for an anime.

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Poll's closed!!

Poll closed!! Surprisingly the God Gundam win by a landslide, I didn't expect that hahaha.
I'm gonna be extra busy until Friday, so I'll start working on it this Saturday, if I'm not too tired (long story short, Sunday :P).

You know, I feel it's kind of a waste to change the current banner now that Takemikazuchi have appeared on the Total Eclipse anime LOL.

Blue Type-00R, the one that's always came saving people in the last moment possible
I'm suing this! This is a plagiarism of my banner, only reversed!! //joke
So... it's official now that Takemikazuchi has dual eyes?

New banner should be up by next Monday!
When that's done, maybe I'll put another poll asking whether I'll put my ComiPo! comics here too or make another blog for it.

Poll for a new banner!!

Hey guys, I have a plan to change my banner into something new, and I arrived at the idea to make a parody of "The Creation of Adam" using gunpla!

"What's 'The Creation of Adam'?", you say? Oh come on guys.
You know, that famous Man and God trying to touch each other... fingers! I meant each other's fingers!!
Still don't get it? Ugh, am I allowed to post it here? I mean, it has the picture of a naked man...

HGUC GM Sniper II's (Standard & White Dingo ver.) Accessories

Just realized that so far there's no blog have specified the accessories and differences of the HGUC GM Sniper II and it's limited White Dingo variant, so I'll explain.

Image taken from Gundam Guy

Based on the text on the picture on the middle-left, the standard HGUC GM Sniper II will have:
  • 75mm Sniper Rifle (standard GM Sniper II Sniper Rifle)
  • 90mm Bullpup Machine Gun (the SMS that was included on HGUC GM Powered)
  • Beam Sabres
  • Shield (the same one as the HGUC GM Custom)
  • A head that had the visor placed in front of the eye camera
  • A complementary left hand to hold the Sniper Rifle

Based on the text on the middle of the pic, the limited HGUC GM Sniper II White Dingo ver will have:
  • Vulcan pod on the right side of the head
  • A Middle shield
  • Long Range Beam Rifle (GM Sniper I's rifle)

I'm not sure if the White Dingo still get the rest of the accessories that are supposedly "replaced" (rifle & shield) or not.

Either way, it's been a while since I'm very hyped about a HG release. A definite buy for me :).

[Anime] Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse 3rd PV

Yesterday, Sattelight released the 3rd PV for the Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse anime.

As much as I loved the Muv-Luv series, I can't help but felt worried for this anime ;^^.
In this 3rd PV, it contains mostly what's already shown on the previous two PV, plus some talking animations, sans the voices. This gave me the impression that they haven't fully finished making other scenes, which is very worrysome because the anime is supposed to start airing next week, on the 1st of June.
Of course, it might be just Me being too paranoid, but with the recent firing of Muv-Luv series' illustrator, Miyata Sou, due to plagiarism; I can't help feeling a bit negative about all this :(.

Hopefully this is just me over thinking it, and Sattelight actually kept their aces hidden on their sleeves.

[Sidestory] Slow progress... And some incoming stuffs I go crazy for

A small progress with time from breaks during my last weeks of works for a while, flavored with guilt.

I have no idea what they're talking about

In other news, some kits that piqued my interest:

[Comic] Skeletal Horror

Umm, remember when I said that the next gunpla comics will be a traditional panel test?
Uh, ahahahahah, Nevermind!!

Model kits used in this comic:
- Bandai's RG 1/144 Gundam Mk-II Titans
- Bandai's RG 1/144 Gundam Mk-II AEUG (Inner Frame)
- Bandai's RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam
- Bandai's RG 1/144 Aile Strike Gundam

Well in any case, I thought this up when I'm thinking about horror movies in the bathroom. Weird, I know. The idea is that something that latches on to you, the either crushes you or blow a hole through your body. Of course the idea was modified to fit the mecha theme.

I also thought about another horror monster, one that sucks your arms and head into your butt, and... ...I'll stop right there... and probably email that idea to the Silent Hill creative team.

[Gallery] RG Gundam Mk-II Titans part 1

Well it has been a real long while since I actually built anything. The combination of busyness, lack of interest, and lack of money really made the couple months felt stagnant "orz.
And then the Mk-II finally got released.

Have I told you before that Gundam Mk-II is my most favorite gundam design?
Well, Gundam Mk-II is my most favorite gundam design, to the point of havingthe MG Mk-II Titans ver 2.0 HD Color as the one and only MG in my collection.

I planned that I would get both color variation, and built the AEUG color first with normal panel lines to know and memorize the build, and then build the Titans color with silver marker.
Now, if you're a Gunpla Builder, then I'm pretty sure you know that the AEUG color variation of RG Mk-II got delayed in release and the Titans color got released first. Well, plan botched. ugh
So anyway, I got the Titans version first (and still waiting for the AEUG color here), and boldly attempt to panel line it with silver anyway. If you saw the previous post, then you knew that it worked, though I think I can work it a bit better if I knew the build much better.

I've pretty much finished the whole kit, though before putting on the decals, I took a couple of pictures, alongside with some pose tests:

Mini Recent Stuff May 23rd 2012

Oh hey, haven't updated this blog in like, what? 2 months?
... sorry, really really sorry bout that "orz.

I will make more post soon about what happened recently.
Since there's quite a bit of them (ComiPo!, thesis, moving, etc), I might make multiple post.
Should be soon, unless I succumbed to stress "orz.

In a gunpla related news, I just finished RG Gundam Mk-II Titans.

Best RG I've ever built. More news later. See you!

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation

If you've been reading the news, you'll know that there's a new free(?) Gundam Game for PS3.
I don't own a PS3, so all I could say after seeing some of the pictures was "wow, the graphics are nice for a Gundam game".
... And then I saw the PV.

Can we say, Gundam x Battlefield?

Holy ****, that looked DAMN AWESOME O_O.
Is this the Gundam game we've been waiting for, and is this how the Gundam game series will be from therefore on?
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm damn impressed with what I've seen.

[Comic] Calligraphy part 2

The second gunpla x Comipo! test.
*As the date suggested, I made this earlier this week, but haven't managed to post it here until now*

Side effects includes slow motion/time stop and random explosions

And as previously mentioned, here's my thought about the prospect of combining gunpla comics with Comipo!:

[Comic] Calligraphy part 1

My first try on combining my usual gunpla comics with Comipo!.

God Gundam couldn't do an imaginary chair pose, so he's not getting a seat

I'll tell my impression about using Comipo! for gunpla comics on the next part.

Also, cookies/cake/winrar is you for the first person that figures out the reference joke on the last panel.

[Comipo] River of 4 Seasons chapter 1 is done!

After a couple of days of sleeping late, I finally finished my new series and also entry for the Comipo! contest! There has been feelings of ups and down while making these. At times I felt this chapter doesn't went as funny as chapter 0, but I've taken pride in each of them.
In case you're wondering why there's a Zaku tag on this post, read 'em up! I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised! :D

My entry for the current Comipo! contest

If you're wondering why the previous post was so short even though I made a big fuss about getting Comipo! before, here's the reason:

Chapter 0 means prototype, which means things might get retconned later

[Sidestory] Waterslide decal hell

It has been almost two months since I finished the Shiranui Niigata... sans the jump unit and the water slide decals for it. Somehow I finished the jump unit a couple days ago, then went almost immediately to placing the decals, finishing the whole kit at last. After taking a quick look at the manual, I think that while it'll be kinda difficult to pinpoint the exact location on where to pit the decals (kinda like the 1/100 VF-25), but probably not gonna took very long.

And I'm wrong, again.
Huh, surprising.

Quality over quantity, as in, damn hard to do rather than just so many it made you lazy.

[Comic] 1+1= Boom

If there is a Double Rainbow in a Gundam world...

And there's my first comic of 2012 :).
Imagine you're not very fond of Gundam SEED & Destiny, yet you researched for quotes from those series. *sigh*
Thx to my friend for lending his RG Freedom.
