Quick View: completed HGUC ReZEL Commander Type

Welcome to Quick View.
in this segment I will give a quick look of a model kits/figures that I recently had acquired. I might also explain the story the kit/figure are based on. Any kit/figure that appeared in this segment will most likely get a review in the near future.

and for today's Quick View, the 1/144 HGUC RGZ-95C ReZEL Commander Type.




ReZEL (Refined Zeta Escort Leader) is a mobile suit that appeared on Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. This mobile suit is the successor of RGZ-91, the Re-GZ (Refined Gundam Zeta), an attempt at mass producing Z Gundam. The unit was deemed a failure as most of the units were destroyed on the second Neo Zeon war (Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack).

due to its BWS (Back Weapon System), once the Re-GZ ejected from its Wave Rider mode into Mobile Suit mode, it cannot transform back to Wave Rider mode, rendering the the Re-GZ into "just above average MS"

The Re-GZ is later succeeded by the ReZEL. The BWS design is removed and replaced with the transforming MS frame of Methuss, while the commander type added more modification taken from the Re-GZ Custom.

AFAIK, the difference between the standard type and commander type are backpacks (normal: Methuss' box frame, commander: Re-GZ Custom's wing frame), weaponry (normal: beam rifle, commander: beam launcher), and different sensor color (normal: red, commander: green).

and now a quick look on the kit.


pretty tall for a 1/144 kit, especially if you count it's backpack and launcher

a little bit of silver and gold I added with Gundam Markers

thx to it's transformation gimmick, it can bend 180 degrees, to which it can be used for kneeling poses

and now for the Wave Rider mode

you can only use Action base 1 (the big one that is usually used for 1/100 or MG) because the hole to stick the peg into is kinda deep :(
