It has been almost two months since I finished the Shiranui Niigata... sans the jump unit and the water slide decals for it.Somehow I finished the jump unit a couple days ago, then went almost immediately to placing the decals, finishing the whole kit at last.After taking a quick look at the manual, I think that while it'll be kinda difficult to pinpoint the exact location on where to pit the decals (kinda like the 1/100 VF-25), but probably not gonna took very long.

And I'm wrong, again.

Huh, I haven't been celebrating Christmas for the last 5-6 years, and the last one and this one was pretty awful, but I've bought a couple of stuff, so I guess it's time for celebration!!

1/100 VF-25F because I need a red-and-white for this year's santa (no, Figma Reimu would be too hard and expensive to get right now).
RG Freedom because I love RG and will get every single one of them (yet I haven't gotten the green Zaku HAHAHA).
HGUC Gouf Custom wasn't a new buy but has been in my backlog for a while because I'm in a slump.
And Kotobukiya's Flying Base 3 because I need one for my Takemikazuchi, and because bd77 has been promoting them as pretty damn awesome.

There's really nothing new since I'm pretty much in a slump (in various ways) "orz.

But anyway, here's some interesting/random stuff.

It's kinda funny that me and my two housemates each completes a Kotobukiya kit at roughly the same time, and each with it's own unique building approach.
The Gaea from Armored Core Nexus (left) is done by my new housemate that has just moved in recently. It's mostly a straight build, but he added silvers and using the zippo lighter liquid technique to wipe any excess.
The Hogire from Armored Core IV (right) is done by my housemate that have been around for a while and also one of the creators of Figumo Warfare. It's also a straight build, but he added some panel lines and then added a lot of gold using gold gundam markers.
The Shiranui Niigata from Muv Luv Alternative Total Eclipse (center) is done by me, using the usual "sand 'em all" technique and putting silver behind every clear part. I also added some silver and grey to add details.

I'm having a stressful time dealing with my last semester (and not having much progress with it either), so I decided on taking a breather by... making comic!!

I was testing making focus lines and motion lines with photoshop, and I'll admit that the lines on the first panel was horrid. ;^^
Pretty much more reason for me to get Comipo!. And apparently the contest will continue sometime this week.

Still pretty much in a slump, haven't made much progress on my thesis, and not really in any mood to continue building Shiranui (although there's only a few parts left). Funny enough, there's also still no news on the Comipo contest.

Well to break all that, I tried (getting) something new.

Agito will be joining later.

Kamen Rider Agito is one of my favorite Kamen Rider show, and since SIC KT line was pretty cheap to get into (except the bikes, reasonably so since most have transformation gimmicks). I bought Tornader because if later Kuuga (My other favorite rider) and Try/Beat Chaser/Gouram were ever gonna be released in SIC KT, I would've bought them in a heartbeat, and I don't want my other favorite rider to be abit lonely :p.

More pics will be posted once Agito arrived.

PS: You know, looking at Machine Tornader's color scheme... my mind was somehow override by... TROMBE.

Self deprecating post yay~.

- I'm really sorry for not posting anything for a while "orz.
- I previously intended to make an "About me" post for this, but lately I felt a bit miserable and the draft for that gets a bit too emo, so I scrapped it.
- Now my comics no longer uses comic sans fonts. Didn't knew it was a hated font until a friend of mine told me haha :p.
- Figumo Warfare 2 didn't won the contest because we're the only one that actually submitted stop motion videos, therefore the stop motion award was removed :(.
- And my friend that worked on the video told me he wasn't satisfied with the video and wanted to extend some parts making it into somewhat a "Director's cut" (and he won't allow me to upload the video until he finishes that).
- Fate/Zero is awesome.
- Some of my markers started to dry :(.
- Finished building Shiranui's body.
- RG Sky Grasper + Sword & Launcher Pack was (IMO) a good call by Bandai, will definitely get.
- So what's about the next RG after the Sky Grasper? A friend of mine told me that he thinks it would be AGE, but I'll hope Bandai waits at least another year so they can release RG AGE-1, AGE-2, & AGE-3 consecutively.
- I guess I should start working on Jesta's WIP...
- And here's to another 100 post and more!! :D

HGUC Jesta get!!

You know, a couple weeks ago I was stressed about the probability of me not getting Jesta because of the recent problems in Sout East Asia's importing due to the rise of yen, combined with Jesta's popularity.
But now, that seems pretty silly now that I actually managed to get one at a toy fair today, although at a slightly more expensive price (the HGFC Master Gundam + Fu'un Saiki at the fair was $4 more expensive than the one I buyed).

Since I'm participating at B-Mecha's groupbuild, I'm gonna build this right away tomorrow.
There's really not much plan other than the usual "sand 'em all and give it a lot of silver". XD

First thing first.
The personalities of the characters in my comics do not follows the personality of the original characters/pilots from the original show.
With that in mind, I also do not call the characters in my comic by their pilot's name, but usually by the unit's names or anything close to the unit's name (since calling God Gundam "God" is awkward). Therefore God Gundam is named "G" in my comics (hey, I finally decided on a name for him!).
Now that's said and done, enjoy the 3-parter comics! :D

Protip: If you're building HGFC Fuun Saiki, please sandpaper the front legs' ball joint quite a bit, it is extremely tight and it's a plastic-to-plastic connection (absolutely no polycaps on Fuun Saiki).

Finished Building HGUC GM Cannon II

I liked the details on the head and the backpack.

But the rifles still sucks just like GM Custom, but much more because the forearm is much bulkier and therefore very hard to position the long rifle with it's downward magazine.

If I'm lucky, I'll be back to my other home the day after tomorrow.Sadly, I'm not a very lucky guy. So, yeah... We'll see.

Anyway, this is something I shot a couple weeks ago, when I have finished the RG Strike but haven't finished it's equipment and Aile Striker.
The story is, that a friend of mine post a picture of MG RX-78-2 ver. OYW doing an orz on his Facebook. And after that, it goes like this:
Me: "I'll try that with my RG Strike :)."
Friend: "Please do, and do other funny poses while you're at it."
Me: "OK."

Aaaand I went overboard and pretty much made a tour of my room using Strike XD.

Started building RG Aile Strike

Build this using a thicker marker than usual. You might see that some panel line are too thick.

I have to say, this kit's built is a bit simpler compared to the previous two RG. There are still variations of the colors (3 types of white & 2 type of red, but only 1 tyype of blue), but the placement of the colors aren't as... "aggressive", if I might put it, compared to the RG RX-78-2 and the RG Zaku. Because of that and how the connection parts are designed this time, the whole kit become much more stable than the previous two RGs.

The loose skirts, an issue both the RX & Zaku had, were dealt by making the connector from the skirts to the waist longer. The kit's stability is also better compared to RG RX and RG Zaku, wherein RG RX and RG Zaku would definitely fall to the ground with a single flick, RG Strike can still stand still even after a little push (although my built isn't really finished). This is probably because of the longer feet design compared to the RX-78-2 & Zaku's feet design, but this is definitely needed because of the Aile pack (I'm pretty sure that the "won't fall in a single flick" would no longer be valid when the Strike equips the Aile pack hahaha).

I'm really eager in continuing building this kit. But due to the time constraints because of my interim work, I'm probably can only continue building this Saturday.

After 7 days (though I took 2 days off building)...

I liked the details this thing has, but it took quite the effort to make them stand out ;^^.
Basically I put silver behind every clear parts, and some other parts that were supposed to have red but isn't is first colored with silver and then some red after it dried.

Probably gonna take another 3-5 days until it's really complete.

UNIQUE IN MANY POINTS
Nobell is definitely an interesting kit from many aspect, and the first interesting thing that got in my mind (other than its a she-gundam) is it's box size and price.

Nobell's box is slightly smaller than GM Custom's, yet she's slightly more expensive than GM Custom.
(Nobell: 1500 yen, GM Custom: 1300 yen)
I guess that means plastic quantity isn't the only factor affecting the price, but the build design's quality too.
It's also funny how they're released next to each other, yet the build design is literally years different (sorry, pet peeves of mine :p)

[WIP] HGUC Sinanju Part 1

IT ALL STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM

All right, here we go with the WIP of this kit. I have been waiting for the Sinanju to appear in HGUC form, and seeing how many unit that appeared on the first episode of Gundam Unicorn get a HGUC release before/after the first episode aired (Unicorn, Stark Jegan, Loto, Geara Zulu, & Loto), I called the appearance of HGUC Sinanju within the release of the 2nd episode of the Gundam Unicorn anime XD.

I didn't try to put any mod to any part of this kit other than the most simple of mods(I avoided mods most other kit that I built, since I had bad memories of doing mods on a kit =_=;), but I tried putting as many touch-up as I can.

"I'm not dead"-kind of post

So yeah, I haven't updated the blog nor visited other's blog for more than half a month. Really sorry about that ;^^.
All of my college teacher except one decided that 31st December or the first week of January is a good time to put the deadline of team assignments, making it the most chaotic end year-new year I ever had (especially since one of the assignment didn't go very well as I quarreled with my teammate even minutes within new year).

And other than those stuff, I was also got drowned with Umineko no Naku Koro ni, having marathon eps 5-7 of the novel during the last days of 2010, and recently searching the wiki and playing the new fighting game. Really sorry bout that. :p

Well, leaving that aside, happy belated new year. :)

Unfortunately, I can't really say that I'm back to active right now. The week after the next I'll be facing exams, which spanned for two weeks. After that I'm getting a new notebook (not PC, as I'm kinda "nomadic"), and I might took a bit of time to tweak it, and "enjoy" it :p. I might not be active until mid-February.

Even so, I'm going to post the WIP of HGUC Sinanju and some comic for the kick part of Zoidiect's Sinanju Groupbuild, and also a "surprise" that me and my friend worked by the last of December of 2010.
So with that said, stay tuned for a bit guys! :D

These might just be excuses, but I've been missing because of:
1) Local holidays.
Which made me go around places all day for a couple of days, not to mention I'm also away from where I kept all my plamo & figures.
2) Holiday assignment.
Just to complete the "fun".

Quite a bit of photoshop testing there. I wonder if I overkilled on some stuff there ;^^.
Because I didn't have a MG action base for the ReZEL, I used two Figma stands and put each of the stand between the body and legs.

Evil Revoltech Woody!!

I wasn't interested in the Revoltech lines (at least not yet). But when Sci-Fi Revoltech announced that they're gonna make Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, I can't help but get interested (not enough to make me buy them, but at least it piqued it)since Toy Story 3 touched me.
Then many news and review were up, and just because, I read most of 'em.

So the thing is, Woody gets a feature of moveable eyeballs and two interchangeable face.

oh, I guess that's okay, dunno. Somehow I thought the face wasn't "neutral" enough, but wasn't "happy" enough either.

The figure looked very awesome with realistic articulation and gimmick (full finger joints FTW!).
I think I would buy this kit... if I'm not in a monetary pinch (which I do now ^^;)

Models: HGUC 1/144 RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Unicorn mode & Destroy mode

These pictures were taken last March and was left unedited on my notebook :P.
And since Divinelight from Celestial Gundam is making a groupbuild of Unicorn, I thought I'll just register them (although I registered them VERY late :p).

Many of the pics were taken as a test using my roommate's emergency light.

You can see that I put quite a lot of decals on Destroy mode (much more than the ver. Ka XD) and red lining on the Unicorn mode (made with a cheap red marker :P).
For a guy that usually only do snap-fit and then full lining and a bit of marking, these two probably had the most "extra works" among my model kits.

These pics were taken half a year ago, right after I finished building the Jegan (I haven't managed to put the marking stickers on yet). I took a ride on my friend's car into an empty field nearby and took some pictures with my cell phone above his car. My friend told me to take some picture on the field itself, and at first I was like "nah..." but in the end I did it anyway. and I sure glad I did. :)

Today I just finished my team's Lego model for a local competition in my college.

In case you asked, that guy isn't me, he's my teammate

The theme was "future city", but I think we went too far and made a space station instead LOL

And after years after playing with Lego, I was reminded with how sharp they were.
I accidentally broke one of the bridge when building it and the pieces cuts my ring finger. It bleeds =/
